Library Services Associate - Adult Services (Beechview Branch)
Current- Provide information services to patrons, including reference, readers’ advisory, and outreach. - Recommend customized reading materials, with an emphasis on adult services. - Develop and deliver original in-person programming for the public, including book clubs, group crafts, and presentations to outside community groups. - Perform library maintenance such as weeding and collection curation using professional knowledge, experience, and tools such as Sierra and Decision Center.- Troubleshoot library technologies (including copiers, scanners, and printers) and patron tech issues on tablets, smartphones, and library reading phone applications. - Develop community specific resources for patrons for specific needs such as legal help, employment, and healthcare options.- Select titles and replacement titles for adult collection- Weed and curate adult collections and titles - Liaise between the library and community partners, including Pittsburgh Hispanic Development Corporation, local senior activity centers, and senior independent living facilities. - Organize and maintain community collections with local partners, ensuring that local community has many options to see library titles relevant to their lives. - Present library resources and other community resources to community groups. - Manager-in-charge as needed, often several times a week.- Oversee circulation staff, teen and children staff, part-time staff, volunteers, and substitutes when person-in-charge.
