I am a Junior B.A. Candidate in Psychology at UMD with a Certificate in Women's Studies and a Minor in Black Women's Studies. I am on the pre-PhD track for Counseling Psychology. My research interests center around special populations, especially the Black community. I would like to research Black womxn and how the trauma of being Black affects them, along with other trauma survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and more. I want to bring light to the difficulties my community faces in many aspects, especially making it known in research that being Black in America, and maybe even in other areas, counts as trauma. I hope to help end the stigma around mental health in my community, one Black Psychologist at a time.
