The Equipment Leasing and Finance Foundation is a non-profit (501c3) education foundation dedicated to research on equipment leasing and finance issues. As Foundation Research Committee Chairman, I was accountable for leading the evaluation, recommendation, and monitoring of all foundation research. I co-approved over $2 million in research grants and provided oversight on 50 research projects.

As Group Head, Capital Markets & Structured Finance I created equipment syndication placement capabilities for LEAF, a leading income fund management firm specializing in small ticket and vendor equipment finance. I reported to the president of this 425 employee 1.8 billion company. I personally executed 22 distinct portfolio sales totaling $96 million. I also oversaw the Asset Based Lending (ABL) division with hands-on coaching.

Hunt Valley, Maryland

In 1995 I established capital markets equipment syndication capabilities for GE Vendor Finance and went on to execute over 500 transactions valued at $1.6 billion. I also led the successful offshore outsourcing of financial analytics touted as a global best practice within the General Electric Company. I created and presented a national sales training curriculum in the effective application of lease syndications capabilities.

As committee chairman, I led the questionnaire design and tabulated survey results for the ELFA Survey of Equipment Finance Activity (SEFA) report completed by over 100 member companies annually. Between 1981 and 2006, I guided an evolutionary overhaul of the survey content, expanding the published survey from a 16-page narrative report to 274 pages of comprehensive tables and graphs. I assisted in the development of the companion Monthly Lease Finance Index (MLFI-25) -- a monthly survey of 25 leading equipment finance firms. The MLFI-25 has been featured on the front page of The Wall Street Journal as a leading economic indicator.

Wayne, Pennsylvania

As a part of the 16-member senior leadership team and a direct report to the CFO, I was accountable for setting corporate pricing policies for this top tier vendor lessor. My staff pioneered portfolio static loss pool and performance analysis. It was here that I launched the first national vendor equipment finance lease syndication platform.

Towson, Maryland

In my 11 years at this national leasing company, I structured and placed hundreds of deals including $200 million to over 40 first-time investors. I beta tested one of the first desktop lease pricing models now branded Super Trump™ -- a highly respected lease modeling standard. The successor company to MNC Leasing was Bank of America Leasing.
