Negotiate pricing and terms of coverage for middle market to National Acount clients with emphasis on large construction companies

•Negotiated pricing and terms of coverage for commercial clients developing over $5,000 in revenue for principally large middle market accounts, with an emphasis on large construction companies (premium volume of $500,000-$2,000,000).•Negotiated and monitored loss sensitive pricing programs for the largest accounts.•Successfully negotiated creation of a separate insurance program for the spin-off of a new steel fabrication operation by a parent construction company, enabling the parent to preserve extremely favorable terms, conditions, and pricing. •Using negotiating skills and market knowledge, placed coverage as new business for a midsize general contractor who had inadvertently allowed his insurance to lapse due to nonpayment of premium.•Used negotiating skills and industry knowledge to place new business for multiple millions of dollars of frame buildings under construction in Oklahoma and Texas (including the Gulf Coast) for a general contractor when his expiring programs became unavailable. •Successfully placed new business for a $1.6mm (premium) contractor doing underground drilling across the country including metro NYC. Crucial to the securing of this client was uncovering of multiple years of error in the client’s workers compensation rating which restored approximately $60,000 of premium to the insured.

•Negotiated pricing and terms of coverage for large construction accounts (premium volume $300,000-$1,000,000).•Hired by Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. to oversee the legacy Fuller & O’Brien book of large construction accounts.•Successfully carried a coverage dispute on a builders risk claim past the carrier’s corporate headquarters to coverage counsel, reversing a denial of coverage.•Used negotiating skills to secure as new business a $500,000 (premium) client engaged in repair of turbines in power plants (including nuclear). Moved from the Surplus Lines market to a standard company, at a savings.

•Negotiated pricing and terms of coverage for large construction accounts (premium volume $300,000 -$1,500,000).•Supervised the servicing of these accounts, including claim management and loss sensitive program management, until the sale of Brooks-Byer to First Niagara Risk Management.•Was instrumental in the analysis of a very negative claim and risk control situation for a large general contractor, resulting in working with a risk control consultant to reverse successfully adverse claim experience, and leading to significant premium savings for the client.• Successfully placed the first workers compensation large deductible program in the region on behalf of a major carrier. • Gave talk to Associated General Contractors of NY (General Building Chapter) regarding the substance of and need for Management Liability, emphasis on Employment Practices Liability.• Periodically taught seminars to Associated General Contractors of NY (General Building Chapter) and Eastern Contractors Association regarding New York State Labor Law Sections 240, 241 and contractual risk transfer.• Served on Associated General Contractors of NY (General Building Chapter) committee researching Labor Law reform.
