Once Pittsburgh Filmmakers closed, the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust overtook operational duties for the Harris Theater. I have been working there since. But now that I'm under the Cultural Trust umbrella, I have also worked part-time in other company areas. Those duties include reception, development, managerial responsibilities for venues like The Education Center, and more. It's a great team with a fun can-do attitude.

I work with Pittsburgh Filmmakers and its arthouse theaters — the Harris Theater, the Regent Square Theatre, and the Melwood Screening Room — and I help with theater operations. In the summer of 2018, the Melwood Screening Room closed. On November 25th, 2019, the Regent Square Theater closed. The Harris Theater remains open to this day. This job involves day-to-day management, food preparation, customer service, and troubleshooting.

With this newly developing site, I contribute reviews and features about modern pop culture and entertainment. I've reviewed several movies, TV shows, and albums during my tenure.

Under the pen name 3-Deep, I write movie reviews/drinking games for the latest films hitting theaters, DVD and Netflix. I've also reviewed TV shows, including Ash vs Evil Dead, Pitch, Kevin Can Wait, Fleabag, Crisis in Six Scenes, Chance, A Series of Unfortunate Events, The Young Pope, Frontier, Baskets, Santa Clarita Diet, Girls, Making History, Shots Fired, Famous in Love, Casual, Castlevania and Loaded. This is my own site, which I've owned and written for on-and-off for nearly three years. It's here where I cover the latest film news, television news and also write my own reviews. I always try to give everything my own spin, and I consider The Watching World my free space for where I can let my voice be heard loud, clear and unfiltered. In the past month or so, I've made it a priority to revitalize this site. Unfortunately, my time is often devoted elsewhere. My Green Room review, released in April 2016, was my last published article.

This newfound site, established in 2015, let me report on the latest superhero and comic book news. It was an absolute blast, and it kept me on my toes. I contributed reviews for X-Men: Apocalypse, Steven Spielberg's The BFG and Suicide Squad. I also wrote weekly recaps on AMC's Preacher. My time with Heroic Hollywood ended on September 27, but I value the experiences and opportunities afforded.

With this site, I wrote in-depth reports about the latest films, television and web content. That included The Nostalgia Critic, Amy Schumer, Review, Better Call Saul, HBO's Animals, 10 Cloverfield Lane, The Witch, Nicolas Cage, Deadpool and FX's Baskets, and that's only a few topics I covered.

On February 1, 2016, I ended my tenure at The Celebrity Cafe. As an intern initially for TheCelebrityCafe.com, I blogged and reported on daily coverage happening in the entertainment world. I would primarily write stories on film updates and developments, although I would also write articles on latest developments in literature, music and general pop culture, just to name a handful. I would also spend this time writing film reviews, op-eds, top ten lists and also TV reports on shows I watched at this time, including The Strain and The Knick.

I reported and covered the latest film and television happenings, and I also regularly wrote film reviews during my tenure here. I interacted with the readers when I did both, and gave them the opportunity to voice their opinions as often as I did mine. It was a great chance to work with a community of bleeding heart entertainment fans, ones who knew what they were talked about and often expressed themselves in thoughtful and sufficient ways. On August 19, 2015, the site's editor-in-chief, Brad Brevet, decided to shut down the site to move on to different creative ventures, thus ending my time there as well. For several months, I wrote a number of articles for this college-based site. Articles ranged in topics, from spicing up your LinkedIn page to writing about meeting my favorite authors in college. My most popular article seemed to be my last, titled "The Most Important Lesson I Learned in College," which centered on my final day at school and reflections on what I'll miss, how I changed and what I regret not doing in my four years. College Magazine gave me valuable experience, and offered me many opportunities to write about topics I likely wouldn't have otherwise.

During my time here, I worked with several students in academic and social fashions. I would host social events, study tables and personal meetings, and also would frequently check in and make sure these freshman/sophomore students felt comfortable and engaged with their campus.

For three and a half years, I worked with the paper as a culture writer. Firmly in the film beat, I covered local events, wrote personal features and also viewed and studied the local films and filmmakers in the area. I would also do reports on other events, activities and affairs which took place during this time.Although I stopped reporting full time with the publication near December 2014, I would remain on the staff as a columnist, film critic/blogger and podcaster. My column, Lights Camera Ashton, began in March 2014 and continued until April 2015. Likewise, my podcast Post Pop — which I co-hosted with fellow writer and host Meryl Gottlieb since its inception — began in September 2013 and ended in May 2015. As a film critic, I wrote reviews weekly from freshman year until senior year.

For this college-credit course, I gained a wonderful amount of insight and experience into small-time magazine writing. Through writing about a disabled solider getting his dream home and the return of an independent book store, I worked hands-on with my journalism peers and produced some of my best and more thoughtfully produced articles to date. I also learned how to fact-check better, and also became a better editor of my own work. It was a very valuable experience.

Through his experience, Fiore Mastracci taught me how to be more forthcoming and thorough with my opinions in my writing, and he gave me the opportunity to speak thoughtfully and vivaciously about some of the most popular and/or acclaimed movies of the time...and also a few others that weren't.

My duties at the Black Hawk Voice were among my first official hands-on journalism experience. I began as a reporter, covering everything from blood drives to technology upgrades. During this time, I would squeeze in film reviews and occasional columns, including one regarding texting in modern society, and another on how violence affects us in the media. The latter I co-wrote with my friend and fellow reporter Daniel Telek.In the years to follow, I was promoted to features editor, and then news editor the following year. While I still reported and wrote, I would spend the majority of my time laying out designs, fact checking and working with every writer on a one-on-one basis.
