- Member of a small technical team in charge of the all-hotels.com website based in Lastminute’s Edinburgh office.- Maintained and implemented improvements to the online connectivity/booking web application using Java Servlet technology.- Improved the unit test coverage of the codebase using JUnit and mocking frameworks.- Designed and implemented a database administration tool using Java and Hibernate.- Was lead developer in a major project migrating the online payment system from Worldpay to Lastminute's in-house shopping basket resulting in lower levels of fraud and easier accounting.- Introduced improvements to the website look and feel through the use of Javascript, including AJAX navigational maps and suggestive text, resulting in an improved customer experience.- Was largely responsible for making the website location-aware through the automatic geocoding of hotels and locations.
