I began my career after graduating college as a US Marine Corps supply officer. In this role, I managed the budget and assets of a battalion of Marines. After five years, I decided to leave the Marine Corps and entered the civilian workforce. I got a job with Club Car in Augusta, GA as a material planner where I purchased service parts to stock in our central warehouse. In this role, I was given the capability to directly connect into our source systems and began learning SQL. SQL helped me to automate my material planning job, and I was able to take on more data analysis projects. After four years as a material planner, I was asked if I would like to join a team within Club Car that was being formed to focus solely on data analytics. I agreed and entered into my current job position. In this position, I work with internal and some external customers to pull data from our source systems using tools like SQL, Alteryx, Tableau, and Excel. I've written well over 1,000 SQL queries and have around 10,000 hours in Alteryx. Additionally, I like to look for ways to leverage software like Alteryx to solve chronic business problems. I've had success using Alteryx to write VBA programming scripts that automate routine business tasks for employees, so that they can focus on problem solving. I've also been able to incorporate public data on web-based APIs into our own data to create a more in-depth analysis.
