I managed the creation of dozens of research products ranging from two-page briefings on pieces of legislation or opponent profiles, to 500-page political research books which synthesized dozens of areas of relevant public information about a client, creatively generating a polling memo with both positive and negative angles. The majority of clients that I worked with were Democratic campaigns, but I also had experience working for the non-profit sector, PACs, party organizations and large public corporations. Additional responsibilities included fact-checking all outgoing communications from clients including TV and digital advertisements, press releases, and social media posts. It also included managing rapid response for clients by way of fielding questions as they arose through the campaign cycle, proactively notifying campaign managers when a press story or piece of legislation was relevant to their operation, and advising them on new policy positions. At any given time I was responsible for between three to six clients, with simultaneous projects completed on rolling timelines. Over the course of most projects, I managed up to four junior researchers, maintaining constant communication with them as well as the leading research manager and the client. I was constantly responsible for timelines of multiple projects, which refined my attention to detail and organizational skills, and additionally, I was able to gain client-facing experience by presenting the final product to the client and preforming any follow up research that was required.

As a Research Associate at American Bridge, I collaborated on various research products including comprehensive opposition books and shorter rapid response projects. I learned how to perform various methods of political research, use databases like Lexis Nexis and Pacer, and competently manage the Freedom of Information Act process. Working with a team, I distilled large and complex amounts of information into coherent narratives, searching for useful patterns to highlight and eventually be pitched to reporters.

As a Legislative and Communications Assistant at the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence in Richmond, Virginia, I worked closely with the Virginia State Director on various legislative priorities during the 2018 legislative cycle in the Virginia State Legislature. I tracked and analyzed relevant legislation, creating summary briefs for senior members. I also helped in promoting the advocacy and awareness of common sense gun reform among other progressive organizations in the state.
