    Oversaw expansion of department from ~10 to 25 employees, overseeing both the department Engineering and QA teams. This included hiring, onboarding, initial and follow-up specialist training, identifying and training backups for all key department roles, creation of a training program and materials from scratch, and lastly creation of an extensive data collection & reporting program to have accurate metrics for measuring department performanceImplemented sweeping changes to department workflows to improve engineer efficiency and department turn-around times. Specifically, instead of all engineers being generalists, engineers were specialized in certain types of tickets, including a “quick ticket” team that new hires were placed into to make them faster/easier to train and ease them into the department and to improve turn-around times for simple ticketsImplemented expediting of tickets by the QA team: previously a ticket was not looked at until an engineer began to work it, which was on average 20+ weeks after the ticket was submitted, leading customers to rarely return emails/requests for information about the issue. Instead, created a dedicated expeditor position within the QA team so that every ticket was reviewed as it came in and reached out to the customer to acknowledge receipt and request any additional information that might be needed to fix the issue, greatly improving customer satisfaction and response ratesOverall, went from a 20+ week backlog of tickets to a backlog of 0 tickets for the first time in company history (overall turn-around times dropped from 4-6 months to 1-5 days, depending on the ticket type). In total during tenure as manager, overall department ticket output increased nearly 4x, despite only doubling department headcount (while training all of the new hires and implementing sweeping change), as we simultaneously improved per engineer efficiency from ~40-45 tickets/week to ~60-65 tickets/week (including new hires)
