Devops Engineer, Tools ProgrammerPixel Toys Jul 2021 - Dec 2021Royal Leamington Spa, England, Gb• Implemented Jenkins pipelines capable of synchronising multiple server databases remotely to ensure web tooling stayed up to date with external tools, saving countless hours of manually synchronising and moving data across different dev and prod environments• Worked with others to coordinate technical requirements and ensure that servers were set up to send and receive synchronised localisation data in the correct format. Helping architect these strings in Unity AssetBundles reduced network traffic to lower device battery usage, and secured our servers from being datamined for strings, protecting brand identity and IP• Architected a MySQL database from scratch to implement a permission based, multirole authentication system with role and permission mappings for an in-house program; affording increased flexibility and oversight on the hundreds to thousands of potential users in partner companies and our publisher• Lead a small team to implement the above system on a Unity client application, and on a C# server which performed server-side authentication of requests from the client program, via Google Firebase. This will protect sensitive project data across multiple companies from being accessed by bad actors• Designed and implemented project-agnostic deployment pipelines from start to finish, automation which reduced manual deployment effort and saved valuable time for developers and lead engineers• Enthusiastic about encouraging teammates to join me in extracurricular company activities such as work outings, sports, off-topic work chat rooms, team building activities, and charity events. I was motivated to make all team members feel included and valued• Implemented many in-editor tools such as automated regression testing, reflection-based configurable shortcut commands for triggering debug methods whilst playtesting, checking for duplicated assets in AssetBundles, and more; to increase developer productivity and enable teams to exceed sprint goals. -
