About Will Chen
I am fascinated by problems at the intersections of language, intelligence, and computation. My journey in computer science began in middle school when I developed a compiler for a programming language I designed named Leaf, which ran on a stack-based virtual machine, LeafVM, inspired by the JVM. This project, fueled by insights from Charles Petzold’s "CODE", laid the foundation for my approach to problem solving— to see things through the lens of language design and symbolic computation.Since 2013, I've been heavily engaged in blockchain development. My initial foray into programming Bitcoin Script led me to working in blockchain ecosystems such as Ethereum and Cosmos. My work has centered on enhancing developer experience by creating new innovations in developer tooling and community engagement through education. I've enjoyed my time working in crypto, where the nuances of language design are not only valued but are essential.
