My current role at Husqvarna Group as a battery cell commodity associate allows me to utilize my technical background in LIB cell chemistry while gaining invaluable experience in the commercial world dealing with supplier relations and progressing the companies strategic electrification ambitions. In early 2022, I finished my master thesis at Helmholtz Institute Ulm in the advanced balancing of silicon-nanowire anodes with pre-lithiated high-energy lithium-rich cathodes using lithium oxalate as a cathode additive. My master’s degree work focuses on electrochemistry, materials science, and overall societal, economic, and ecological drivers for advancements in energy technology and the different uses there-of. There is an emphasis on transport and thermodynamics fundamentals of battery materials as well as hands-on lab projects such as electrical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and XPS. In my previous leadership position as shift process engineer for SR Tritium Enterprises (US-Aiken, SC), I coordinated with operations shift managers, maintenance, quality and environmental teams to provide high-quality tritium products to the US Department of Energy. This radioactive gas process required intense precautions for the safety of all employees and the general public. I was the sole engineer on shift, which required excellent technical knowledge of hydrogen processing and leadership of operations personnel. I was responsible for writing operating procedures, shift logs, and safe isolation guidance for system maintenance. I was also required to independently identify and solve key process issues or deviations. As part of the emergency response team, I was highly in the response and reporting of abnormal events to ensure the safety of both employees and the general public. These responsibilities bolstered my leadership, time-management, and communication skills. I also offer relevant knowledge in chemical processing.

Research AssistantHelmholtz Institute Ulm (Hiu) May 2021 - Aug 2021Ulm, Baden-Württemberg, GermanyWarder titration performed on NMC and Li-rich LNMO active material. Additional characterization was performed using electron microscopy (SEM), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), Karl-Fischer titration, water adsorption and x-ray diffraction (XRD) in order to better understand surface carbonate formation and impacts. Electrochemical tests were performed with 3-electrode T-cells to quantify the degradation of NMC and LNMO cathodes. -
Research AssistantHelmholtz Institute Ulm (Hiu) Oct 2020 - May 2021Ulm, Baden-Württemberg, GermanyA Warder titration procedure was established to determine TM carbonate formation on aged NMC and Li-rich LNMO active materials. A database of solvent mixtures with a range of carbonate and hydroxide compositions was written to determine the most precise titration method. -

Supported the processes and systems used in separating and confining hydrogen isotopes, delivering tritium gas-transfer systems to the nuclear weapons stockpile for deterrence purposes. This has given me experience with diffusers, vacuum pumps, hydride storage, and Codes of Federal Regulation. -
Summer Research InternBmw Group May 2014 - Aug 2014Munich Area, GermanyInvestigated the (de-)hydrogenation reaction of large organic hydrocarbons (LOHCs) in order to store hydrogen for fuel-cells. This required hands on work with two prototype reactors installed on a test bench to carry out the three-phase reaction. -
