As Relations Officer for AYD 2025, my key responsibilities include:- Managing and drafting applications for event funding via external grants- Liaising with and managing relationships with partner groups and organisations as part of the conference Outreach Programme- Managing communications with external guests and speakers- Working alongside the rest of the committee to bring our conference vision to life

Employed as a part-time Waiter at a well-renowned Auckland restaurant. Responsible for delivering a very high quality of service to customers, managing a section, running food, setting up and packing down the restaurant each shift.

Myself and 3 friends who are fellow students at the University of Auckland, have set up an online tutoring company specialising in providing quality services in both IB and NCEA tutoring. We established Nexus Tutoring to fill a hole in the market; we did not see existing tutoring services who provided both the flexibility of an online platform and a holistic support system for students running alongside general academic tutoring. We aim to incorporate elements of this holistic mentorship into our services to ensure our students succeed in high school not simply academically, but also continue to thrive in co-curricular and social elements of their schooling as well. In short, we want to educate whilst providing support, mentorship and guidance through the turbulent journey that is high school.My role as Marketing and Social Manager involves taking charge of all of our social media avenues and creating promotional materials to boost engagement between Nexus and our target market of IB and NCEA students and their parents. Core responsibilities involve running our Facebook and Instagram pages, logo design and creating all posts, resources and materials which require publishing under the Nexus Tutoring brand. I am also a tutor alongside this role, and provide tutoring in a range of subjects including English (IB SL and HL, NCEA L1, L2, L3 & Scholarship), History (IB SL and HL), Mathematics (IB SL, NCEA L1, L2) and Physics (NCEA L1). I look forward to seeing Nexus grow as a business, and where this will take myself and the team.

As President of AULSS for 2024 it is my role to manage relationships with sponsors, facilitate executive meetings and ensure the year's events run smoothly and well. AULSS as a society provides a range of social, educational, wellbeing and recruitment-focussed events for law students at Waipapa Taumata Rau, whilst advocating student interests alongside the Equity Council in discussions with staff and faculty.

Alongside my co-media officer, the main responsibilities of this role include coordinating with other AULSS Exec members to promote upcoming events and initiatives through our social media channels, putting together a number of AULSS publications including the Verbatim student magazine and Law Student Insiders Guide, and producing club merchandise at the end of the year for students to purchase.

As a contracted Consultant with 3 Degrees Ltd, my core responsibility is the procurement of s 27 Cultural Reports to be used at criminal sentencing. Our reports detail the relevant cultural, family, and personal background of offenders, and are provided to the Courts in a hope of outlining all relevant information required to assign a sentence which is both appropriate and serves the offender's interests and rehabilitation post-offending.

Tasked with providing a quality in-house experience at a highly popular cafe in Ponsonby, Auckland. Responsibilities include serving customers, running orders and maintaining a clean and inviting environment for customers to enjoy.

New Zealand Model Parliament is one of UN Youth NZ's 3 national conferences, focussed on giving high-school students an immersive experience and insight into how governance and policy function in Aotearoa. As Promotions officer on the organising committee my role focusses on creating visual media to promote the event to potential participants and volunteers. This mainly entails using Canva as a design platform to create social media content for instagram and facebook, whilst planning out the most effective ways to boost engagement and event registrations.

Within this role I will be coordinating one of UN Youth NZ's three national conferences, Aotearoa Youth Declaration. The key components of this role include appointing a committee to work alongside to create the conference, managing the budget for the event, leading meetings and aiding the team in meeting their personal deadlines, among other things.I look forward to seeing the conference we are able to build for 2023.

Coordinating UN Youth NZ’s largest High School Ambassador Programme. I work alongside a committee of 6 other incredible volunteers to mentor 60+ ambassadors across Tāmaki Makaurau and the Waikato regions whilst delivering quality civics education to be distributed and utilised by ambassadors. The core elements of my portfolio involve general logistical management and communications, running workshops, creating educational materials such as workshops and UN-style resolutions, mentorship and guidance of my committee and our ambassadors, and lastly assisting in the organisation of events within high schools. As the HSA Programme Coordinator I also sit on UN Youth Auckland’s Regional Council as a General Member, assisting in more general matters and attending regular meetings to organise a range of events and initiatives.

The role of Student Fundraising Caller is a part of the University of Auckland’s annual giving campaign led by the Alumni Relations Team. This year’s two week fundraiser is directed towards raising funds for the University’s Student Emergency and Wellbeing Fund, supporting students in financial hardship and facing unfortunate circumstances which may limit their access to their tertiary education.The Student Fundraising Caller role entails cold calling alumni from a broad range of backgrounds, ages and degrees. Whilst on call, our two goals are to establish connections between the alumni and the alumni relations team, and raise funds for the Student Emergency and Wellbeing Fund.

Experience working on drive thru, FOH and in the McCafe. Gained valuable experience working within such a fast-paced customer service environment, alongside the practical skills required to succeed in a high-pressured setting.

I was a part of the youth advisory board for the publication ‘Rolling Warrior’ by Judith Heumann and Kristen Joiner. This entailed regular meetings via zoom with youth spread across both New Zealand and the United States to discuss adapting the adult text ‘Being Heumann - An Unrepentant Memoir of a Disability Rights Activist’ into a text accessible to young adults. We read draft exerts of the text and worked with both Judith Heumann, the key figure in the text, and writer Kristen Joiner to change the structure and feel of the book in order to make the core ideas about disability rights activism more accessible. This was an extremely rewarding experience, and an incredible opportunity to educate myself on the barriers which disabled individuals have had to overcome within both the USA and at home in Aotearoa. I greatly valued the chance to speak with Judith about her own involvement in activist movements within the United States, and the ways in which we can address those barriers which still remain.
