The Book Publishing Committee receives, selects, reviews and directs publication of manuscripts and textbooks for the American Nuclear Society. In addition, the Committee discusses all other matters concerning the ANS suite of published books and prospective offers related to books.

The ANS Book Publishing Committee considers, edits and approves manuscripts submitted to the American Nuclear Society for publication.

Development of content for ANS website concerning nuclear energy, written for both nuclear professionals and the general public. Topical material includes news (and context) as well as historical and technical retrospectives. Management of Social Media platforms. Consulting to ANS on Social Media management and involvement. Contracted attendance of national meetings and coverage of them through varied social media outlets.

Moderator of ANS Social Media List- a private e-list which facilitates discussion among a wide range of nuclear professionals, advocates, reporters and authors about the usage of the various forms of social media in relaying messages and educating the public. Moderator is responsible to invite new members, perform listserve related tasks. Assisted in development of new Rules / FAQ for ANS Social Media List.

ANS Communications Committee (formerly Public Information Committee, name change June 2013) member and Chair of Social Media subcommittee. "The Communications Committee shall take up matters bearing on the efforts of the Society, its constituent units, and individual members to promote external awareness of the Society, enable effective communications within the Society, and raise the level of understanding of nuclear science, engineering, and technology among the media, opinion leaders and the public."

Activities include educating the public about the importance and historical significance of the Savannah and undertaking specific limited scope restoration and preservation tasks with the full concurrence of the vessel owner (MARAD)."The NSSA works with MARAD to contribute effort and money to the restoration and preservation of the NS Savannah, now docked in Baltimore.

Develop for the NSSA both a history of the N.S. Savannah itself, as well as a history of the NSSA itself (as delineated in the bylaws.) Also catalogue and record items donated to the NSSA which are either stored on board the ship or at various locations ashore.
