Welcome to my profile!I have been taking a year out of my career to undertake a Masters’ Degree in Creative Writing at the University of Nottingham. I have had a passion for writing creatively since I was a child, creating stories and game scenarios for my friends. It was a privilege to be able to take these skills and hone them in a more focussed environment. I have learned new forms of writing, and new techniques, and had a great time collaborating with my fellow students. It has been an excellent experience, and I look forward to applying the lessons learned.My prior professional experience has been in the legal sector, working as a Case Handler at Gordons’ Property Lawyers. In this role I handled a caseload of several hundred customers, as well as banks, solicitors, mortgage brokers and other stakeholders. This required precision, diligence, and proficient communication skills. I have learned in doing so how to handle customers, and to maintain a diligent workload.I have played historical role playing games, using my knowledge of the past to produce all manner of exciting situations.I have also been on the committee for the University roleplaying society. In this capacity I have had experience in helping to organise major events, working in a team, and handling bureaucracy. This could be helpful in other contexts.My experience in live action roleplay has given me skills in public speaking, sociability, and a general willingness to try new things and get stuck in.I am articulate, conscientious, punctual, and reliable. I have relished learning how to write on my MA, and I look forward to using those skills in a professional environment.
