Design and implement highly scalable systems across multiple technical disciplines.• Led a team in shipping a new distributed system to track incoming packages, enabling more efficiently planning for delivery station sort and dispatch operations.• Delivered a scalable web service to manage delivery station jurisdictions, allowing visual management of jurisdictions, shuttering a legacy process of managing jurisdictions with postal codes.• Optimized an Xpress linear programming model to forecast the number of Amazon delivery drivers required to complete deliveries, to allow enough drivers to be scheduled ahead of time.• Authored the new device messaging client for Kindle E-ink devices that interfaced with the same backend services FireOS devices utilized, allowing teams to deliver messages in exactly the same way to the entire device portfolio.• Developed a cross compiling C++ build system that enforced software development best practices, by automatically running unit tests, checking for memory leaks, and generating test coverage reports.• Created Gradle plugins to bridge the gap between the latest Android build tools and existing build infrastructure. This is now utilized by most Android development teams across the company.• Improved the testing of the Push Messaging Android client by introducing less verbose unit tests written in Groovy that run on the host machine, instead of a tethered device.• Shaped the over-the-air update client for FireOS devices to intelligently download and install updates automatically when the device is not in use.
