I work part time as a GP in Leeds and part time as an academic GP with the PRISM group in the school of primary care at the University of Nottingham and as the clinical lead for Mendelian Health. My interests are in Genomics, personalised medicine, rare and inherited diseases. My current research involves understanding the path to diagnosis for rare disease and using large data analytics to develop predictive models for these diseases to help shorten the diagnostic odyssey. With Mendelian we too are trying to shorten the rare disease diagnostic odyssey by using innovative data driven approaches to identify patients.I am also the chairman of the board of trustees of NPUK, a charity involved with supporting those affected by Niemann Pick disease, my son is affected by this condition.
