I was seconded to the ICAO to bring the knowledge and operational experience gained by Leonardo Helicopters in the development of the AW609 to the organisation. This knowledge will be of use to ICAO as it develops guidance and eventually standard and recommended practices for the introduction of Tilt-rotors and more broadly Powered Lift into civil airspace.

I completed the two year AgustaWestland (now Leonardo Helicopters) Graduate Scheme. The assessed scheme aims to integrate graduates into the company by giving practical experience of areas across the company along with personal development and future leader training.During my time on the scheme I participated in: Repair Design- Undertook an in depth review of damage tolerances of the rotating components on the AW101 Main Rotor Head. Structural Engineering (Lynx Platform)- Responded to technical queries via Westland Engineering Instructions - Performed “Check Stress” on the AW159 Wildcat Flying Controls. Business Strategy and Planning- Investigated cost saving initiatives.- Reported and made recommendations on issues of concern to senior management. - Assisted in the development of a new management framework for Industrial Operations. - Assisted with the establishment of a daily Production War Room to expedite delivery of AW169s from their Final Assembly Line in Vergiate. - Established a consolidated approach to reporting the status of each aircraft.- Established a method of reviewing any material shortages for each aircraft.- Chaired Production War Rooms. Industrial Operations (based in Vergiate, Italy)- Coordinated AW169 Final Assembly and Flight Line Industrialisation Initiatives.- Introduced a new performance metric to measure the Rate of Change of each plant within Industrial Operations by consolidating KPIs into a single score to be compiled on a monthly basis.- Developed the concept of a new dedicated Industrial Operations improvement team with associated framework.
