• Providing onsite environmental support at a major refinery, which included tracking and calculating refinery emissions, tracking wastewater emissions, coding emission calculation programs via Aspen Calc and Excel.

• Conducted research and lab maintenance for the Louisiana Energy Institute (affiliate of the UL Lafayette Engineering Department). Responsibilities included:
• Designing a process to analyze volatile emissions from wood chips undergoing torrefaction
• Delivering an oral presentation on the aforementioned torrefaction research at the Association of Official Analytical Chemists conference in April 2017
• Collecting and analyzing data using GC-MS and HPLC from prepared samples
• Using emissions data to optimize a self-sufficient power generator that uses its own flue gas as fuel
• Assisting with research on the dissimilarity of nutritional intake between farm-raised and wild alligators using chemical markers in their eggs

• Conducted research and lab maintenance for the UL Lafayette Biology Department's Red Seaweed Laboratory. Responsibilities included:
• Establishing and maintaining a sample database and curating live samples.
• DNA extractions using agarose gel and polymerase chain reactions
• Attending two international workshops in Panama and collecting live Caribbean seaweed samples
• Collecting and analyzing sample data to assess the effects of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill on the affected algae populations and their environment in the Gulf of Mexico.
• Used DNA analysis software to contribute to the assembly of the red algae phylogenetic tree
