I am a nationally certified interpreter who is a Bachelor of Arts graduate from the Interpreter Education Program at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. I have extensive work experience in a variety of settings. I began providing speech-to-text transcribing services in September 2001 using the TypeWell speech-to-text transcription software. Much of my experience here has been in the post-secondary educational setting, conference setting, and limited experience in a legal setting. I have developed and presented several workshops, both independently and in collaboration with colleagues. Workshop topics include: technology and its implications for interpreters, gender as a social construct and the impact it has on the interpreting process, and an overview of interpreting as a profession in Arkansas. I have experience managing and coordinating interpreters and transcribers in the following settings: post-secondary, community, conference, and video relay service. I am proficient with a number of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher. I am familiar with Quickbooks and Quicken.
