About Will Harris
I am a PhD candidate at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution in the departments of Mechanical Engineering and Applied Ocean Physics. My current research focuses on using computational ocean acoustic modeling, environmental remote sensing, and various in situ measurement methods to help characterize the environment and its effects on sound propagation. I am also a SMART scholar from the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division, where I work in the Computational Fluid Dynamics group. Prior to working, I graduated from Webb Institute with a dual degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering and gained experience in various facets of the maritime industry including new construction, repair, operations, and design.
