Updated PLC-based control system for indoor and outdoor burn systems across 7 different fire training facilities using SYSMAC Studio. Finalized the design, prototyping and documentation of a control system for a new $800000 fire training facility complete with two propane burners, a smoke machine, HMI and several safety interlocks. The control system was spread across 5 panels in a hierarchical arrangement. This included designing in compliance with NFPA guidelines, customer specifications, and logical placement of safety features.Routinely visited the different training facilities to conduct regular maintenance of control systems, including repairs of smoke machines and cable replacements. Occasionally serviced mechanical systems such as piping and doors.Assisted with electrical panel design for smaller projects, such as offices and equipment sheds. This meant designing efficient 120-240V and 3-phase panels, balancing current draw using Excel, and choosing appropriate breakers for different loads such as heaters, fans, receptacles and lights.

Designed, prototyped and tested recovery hardware for a competition rocket.

Full time summer employment. Operated lawn maintenance equipment, and worked on a crew with other summer students and superiors.
