Driven by a passion for tech, an unquenchable thirst for knowledge, boundless curiosity, and a broad range of interests, I am using the DevOps Roadmap as a guideline and aiming to learn a lot of things about a lot of things! While my primary focus is currently networking (next stop: CCNA!), I am also working with Python and shell scripting, while beginning KodeKloud’s Learning Paths and Adrian Cantrill’s AWS courses. My intention is not to quickly pass exams, but to spend time working through my own “curriculum” of these materials, allowing me to explore these different areas and really learn to use the skills and softwares involved. I have previously completed coursework on Linux, AWS, Windows Server administration, and software design. My aim is to build knowledge both broad and deep, for a range of solid skills I can combine and put to good use.I will obtain my CCNA this year (2023) and plan to graduate with an AAS in Network Administration by the end of the year. In 2021, I got my Security+ certification and completed my CSC in Cyber Security & Networking Foundations from Tidewater Community College. I was hired by NCR in 2022 and am currently a Customer Engineer, working break/fix on both financial equipment (ATMs) and retail systems (point-of-sale, self-checkout). It is an amazing opportunity and I cannot recommend it highly enough!In addition to technical aptitude and computer skills, I am adaptable and can easily adjust to a variety of roles and environments. A lifelong man-of-many-hats, I entered the IT field from an EMT job, after developing strong communication and interpersonal skills from working in customer-facing service industry roles for over a decade. These included management roles in the hospitality and restaurant industries, from casual settings to fancy banquets and fine dining. Before I was old enough to work a job, I was always happy to teach others about unfamiliar technology, assist wherever needed, and work with them to make things work for them.
