Joined as the first CFO of newly stand-alone MicroEdge to build and lead the finance, accounting, HR and legal functions. Executed projects that markedly improved revenue growth and profitability (previously trending flat to down). Left MicroEdge when a new CEO was hired who moved the executive team to Minnesota.

Served as the CFO’s right-hand man. Recruited by the CFO, with whom I’d worked before, to help the company prepare for its IPO. Served on CEO’s Strategy Team to determine future plans and direction. Selected Accomplishments:• Facilitated revenue growth from $38M to $150M over three years by scaling the finance and accounting department from 8 to 35 employees, opening 15 international offices in Europe, Asia and South America, and enhancing systems and controls.• Key member of team involved in three equity sales: 1) IPO in 2005 (listing cancelled after S-1 filed and road show completed); 2) sold major equity stake to PE firm in 2006 at 2005’s IPO price; 3) executed LBO (sold the firm and raised $275 million in debt) in 2007 at 3x previous sale price.• Responsible for managing audits, tax prep, treasury, external reporting and all ad-hoc projects.• Managed the annual budget creation and monthly reforecasting process. Leading provider of health information.CFO MedicaLogic/Medscape’s Portal Division (Medscape) Provided financial leadership through multiple mergers / acquisitions. • Completed the first 10-K and 10-Q SEC filings for Medscape post-IPO in early 2000.• Managed the first Medscape audit post-IPO and performed all controller activities. • Facilitated the sale of Medscape to MedicaLogic in early 2000 by participating in due diligence before the sale and then afterwards migrating accounting operations to MedicaLogic.• Played a lead role in the sale of Medscape to WebMD in late 2001 by developing financial models of the business, working with Lazard in creating the investment banking pitch books, leading all finance aspects of the road show by making all finance presentations to potential acquirers, and by working with the bankers and bidders to address all finance due diligence questions. • After the sale, managed the integration of Medscape into WebMD.• Undertook business development initiatives to expand WebMD through additional acquisitions.
