Security Supervisor
CurrentAs a Security Supervisor at the University of Miami, I oversee the nightly activities in the residential colleges and provide a central point of contact for emergency situations during the hours between 9:30 PM and 8:00 AM. Facilitation of group and individual interviews is a major component of the job, as well as subsequent selection of qualified interviewees. Dealing with difficult people and managing unique situations is something that I have gained considerable experience with, due to the frequency of such occurrences. Not only do I interact with a lot of difficult people, but a lot of people in general. Nighttime is the busiest period in the residential colleges, so it is reasonable to see how I interact with hundreds of people on a nightly basis. Problems that residents have can vary from maintenance issues with their rooms, to intoxicated students, and even illegal activity. Dealing with such a diverse array of individuals has served to further my communicative ability and customer service skills.
