❖ Taught 100-150 students in large laboratory and lecture settings as well as smaller groups in senior-level laboratories❖ Trained students in modern molecular genetics and microbiological techniques including creating and running DNA agarose gels, cell transformation, plasmid manipulation, and protein isolation.

● (Jan. 18 , 2018– 2019) Hydrocarbon degradation facilitated by halophilic bacteria: Water and terrestrial areas can become contaminated due to fracking waste management systems. These areas can be highly saline (high salt concentration), and this research works to define the degradation capacity of bacterial organisms in high salinity. This was in collaboration to completely remediate produced waters by halophilic bacteria and desalination by other industrial means.● (2019-2020) Characterization of novel halophile Modicisalibacter tunisiensis and its application to produced water: M. tunisiensis is a novel halophilic hydrocarbon degrading organism function hydrocarbon degrading ability, specifically the capability to degrade mono-aromatic hydrocarbons, benzoate, as well as aliphatic compounds. We predicted the genetic mechanisms behind their metal ion resistance. We also confirmed their successful mono-aromatic hydrocarbon degradation in produced water.

I worked through the summers within the specified date range. I Trained in using lab equipment and administering radiographs, assisted with soft tissue and minor osteopathic surgeries, and explained complex diagnostic techniques and procedures to clients.
