• Conducted research in computer vision under the Machine Vision and Perception Lab at SDSU for my thesis

• Implemented a cutting-edge, pre-trained, deep learning model called Vision Transformer (ViT) to automate Silicon wafer chip defect classification resulting in over 75% test accuracy for 12 classes under the Data.
• Trained the Vision Transformer on a remote server using a GPU cluster and CUDA for parallel computing
• Collaborated on deployment of a CNN model called Xception into production resulting in over 80% accuracy for 12 classes using on-premises software
• Created novel computer vision methods, such as tiled images using sliding windows, and edge detection, from scratch to help improve performance on slightly imbalanced, high variance, and small datasets (~3 GB each)
• Conducted research to improve the ViT performance using transfer learning and different types of transformations

• Scraped social media sites for historical data regarding follower count over time using Selenium and Beautiful Soup
• Used supervised learning, such as XGBoost, to predict Twitter follower count in the next 3 months and classify a list of users with the highest performance and growth to give to client
• Used SHAP, bivariate, and decile plots, along with MAE, and ROC curves to test performance of models
• Assisted in the development of an XGBoost model that classifies missing hospital charge codes resulting in over $1M in missing charge codes and a significant ROI
• Performed unit-testing on constructed models and wrote SQL queries to gather data and MySQL database testing
