I am currently pursuing a Public Health degree at the University of Virginia, expected to graduate in 2026, with a passion for promoting health and well-being on both local and global scales. As Project Manager of United Against Inequities in Disease, I have the privilege of leading initiatives that benefit the Charlottesville community through partnerships with local service oriented foundations. Recently I organized a robust volunteer program with 20 volunteers and Abundant Life Ministries to provide tutoring to underserved neighborhoods in Charlottesville to address educational disparities. This role has allowed me to foster meaningful relationships with local nonprofits while engaging UAID members in impactful volunteerism.Beyond my academic journey, I’ve gained hands-on experience in healthcare settings that have shaped my understanding of patient care and community health. My internship with International Medical Aid in Kenya gave me the opportunity to work in a public hospital environment, where I was able to shadow unusual dental surgeries and connect with patients of different backgrounds. Additionally, as an Orthodontic Assistant at David Hughes Orthodontics, I helped deliver quality care to patients, balancing technical skills with a patient-first approach. These diverse experiences—spanning project management, public health, and clinical work—have solidified my values of empathy, inclusivity, and excellence in healthcare. I am eager to bring these qualities to future roles as I continue to explore ways to create healthier communities and foster positive change through collaboration and service.
