I first entered college at the University of Minnesota as a starry-eyed statistics major. I wanted to ply my trade crunching numbers and solving problems. It took me all of a single semester to realize that while statistics might've been a strength, it certainly wasn't a passion. I did a full 180, driven by the enjoyment I got out of a freshman film class, and entered the Studies in Cinema and Media Culture program (it's a mouthful, I know). Production and analysis classes fueled my passion for all things media, and I knew pretty quickly that this was what I wanted to do.My coursework in the history, usage, and production of various media has given me a vast understanding of the wide world of media and its utilization in marketing, entertainment, and the like. My time as a manager at Cafe Zupas, a fast-casual restaurant, and leadership roles in media production classes and projects have prepared me to work and lead in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.I've produced everything from short films, to PSAs, to media analysis articles & videos. Those projects have allowed me to explore every facet of production: writing, planning, filming, editing, re-filming because you dropped your SD card in the little crack between the elevator and the floor. Yeah, I'm ready for anything.
