Responsible for identification of remediation items on a finance transformation project for a large retailer corporation. The project was a global SAP and MDM implementation, involving transforming legacy data to MDM and SAP systems. Project responsibilities included: assisting in creating data validation and remediation documentation for the Japan and Mexico rollouts; engineering conversion validation strategies; conducting meetings with clients located in various countries to understand the in-country data and related business rules required to transform the legacy data to fit the MDM/SAP model. Furthermore, utilized SAS to complete the analysis of existing data based on data quality business rules, identified data exceptions, and developed and presented remediation strategies to the key business and IT data owners. Created data conversion validation deliverables that were presented to the Business for sign-off and Internal Audit for review.Led enhancement of procedures which recalculated policy earned and unearned premiums at the coverage level. Attained significant improvement in efficiency of procedures, reducing third party data management costs to the client. Responsibilities included obtaining the required information from the client, reading the data from multiple complex files, data cleansing and performing recalculations of unearned and earned policy premiums and reconciling with client reports. Responsible for performing data validation routines to assess the data quality of extracted datasets, testing against control totals, checking for valid date ranges, identification of blank fields, and looking for inconsistencies within a data record. Project responsibilities also included performed a significant number of journal entry testing procedures for various Legal Entities within the client, which included the design and execution of data analysis procedures in SAS, reconciliation and analysis of data to identify unusual values and activity.
