I worked as a portfolio analyst in the commercial operations group. Provided assistance and analysis to traders managing ~2.5 GW of coal and gas capacity and ~$100MM in annual gross revenue. Produced position reports, P&L reports, market and commodity analysis, valuations of plant characteristics, and many other tasks, routine and ad hoc. Managed Monte Carlo portfolio optimization model.

Responsible for developing a program in Matlab to run extended simulations of expected solar radiation for various locations. Modeled a photovoltaic CPC (compound parabolic concentrator) and explored parameters including concentration ratio, truncation, PV efficiency, and tracking orientation. Investigated the cost and energy competitiveness of a photovolatic CPC with a conventional photovoltaic solar panel. Presented research at the Dayton Engineering Sciences Symposium (Oct. 2014) for which I was awarded "Best Presentation" in the category of Light-Matter Interactions. Published as first author in ASME's Journal of Solar Energy Engineering: Computational Study of a Fixed Orientation Photovoltaic Compound Parabolic Concentrator, J. Sol. Energy Eng 139(2), 021002 (Nov 10, 2016).
