Having just completed my second season as Assistant Coach with the New England Free Jacks in the MLR, the club has achieved back-to-back Championship shields. My role of Forwards Coach has responsibility of coaching the scrum, lineout, general forwards play as well as kicking game strategy.Previously, I spent 2 years (2021-2022) as Defence coach for the Hong Kong men’s XV’s where the team won the Asian Rugby Championship and was part of the final Rugby World Cup repechage tournament in Dubai (November 2022). During this time, I fulfilled the role of Head Coach of HKU Sandy Bay playing in the Hong Kong Premiership for two seasons having been Defence coach prior to that. Overseeing the coaching of the senior men’s and women’s teams, responsibilities also included the development of age-group teams, pathways and budget control. I spent 6 years coaching elite rugby sevens; firstly with Kenya (2015-2018) before joining Hong Kong (2019-2021). As assistant coach with Kenya 7s, my role included leading on defence, skill development and analysis as the team achieved their ‘best ever’ finish on the World Series (2017-18); including back-to-back finals in Vancouver and Hong Kong; as well as competing at the 2018 Commonwealth Games and 2018 World Cup in San Francisco. Coaching across both men’s and women’s 7s programmes in Hong Kong, I also lead U20 sides to regional tournaments.As well as a number of years playing high-level rugby in South Africa, France and the UK, I have been coaching since 2006 and have coached professionally since 2015. A qualified teacher, I was Director of Sport at Kenton College- one of Kenya’s leading IAPS Preparatory Schools for five years.I am extremely driven & passionate about coaching sport at an Elite level and have spent a large amount of time on personal development- visiting and spending time with a range of top class teams and organizations in a number of different sports.
