I act for a wide variety of clients on a range of both contentious and compliance-related matters, with a particular focus on regulatory and white collar crime investigations.My work in those areas includes:- acting on the global investigation into the manipulation of LIBOR, involving multiple agencies (including the FCA, SFO, CFTC and DOJ) across multiple jurisdictions;- acting on an investigation into the potential manipulation of foreign exchange markets for a large financial services client;- running an investigation into potential fraudulent activity relating to the sale of FIFA World Cup match tickets (including offences under both the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 and the Bribery Act 2010); - conducting an investigation and advising a client as to whether it needed to make either a Principle 11 notification under the FCA's Principles for Businesses or a Suspicious Activity Report to the National Crime Agency, in light of certain transactions that involved counterparties domiciled in jurisdictions deemed to be "high risk" from a financial crime perspective;- acting for a Fortune 500 retailer in connection with three separate internal investigations into financial irregularities associated with supplier funding;- conducting an internal investigation for an international securities firm listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, into its alleged failure to install sufficiently robust compliance systems and the resulting fraudulent use of company credit cards; and- advising a global online retailer on how to protect itself and its customers from various innovative forms of online fraud.I have also advised in relation to High Court and Court of Appeal trials, as well as representing clients in front of the Privy Council and various arbitration and mediation bodies (including the LCIA, the ICC and CEDR).I am a member of the Financial Services Lawyers Association, the LCIA ’s Young International Arbitration Group and the British Association for Sport and Law.
