I'm a product designer with over 20 years' experience developing premium innovative, successful and responsible products. After graduating from Brunel University in West London, I cut my teeth at Dyson's R&D department before moving into consultancy, first in New Zealand with 4ormfunction, and then in Edinburgh with Shore - where I've been for over 12 happy years now (and counting). My skillset bridges the gap between Industrial Design and Mechanical Engineering, although I have a foot in both of those camps as well. At Shore, I now specialise exclusively in medical and pharmaceutical product development, and I particularly love designing the intricate mechanisms that bring those devices to life. I believe that my legacy of successful projects across all industries demonstrates genuine innovation and design thinking, with value and experience from concept right through to manufacture, with an understanding of the fundamental and subconscious values of design to all stakeholders.I have a further passion for the development and application of Sustainable Design practices and methodologies, and am actively researching, developing and promoting these. I believe that there are multiple opportunities for sustainability enhancement across all product categories, from material tweaks all the way up to holistic system design for a Circular Economy business model. Design can - and should - be a force for Better.
