Fair Lending Analyst
CurrentThe short description: To ensure the bank's lending policies and associates are treating all applicants fairly in pricing and loan decisions according to ECOA and FHA regulations.Day-to-day responsibilities include manual review of identified protected class loans by reports generated from Fair Lending Wiz, a Wolters-Kluwer product. Each period of analysis, such as 2018 mortgage loans, is composed of a pricing review and decision review, each having a regression analysis and comparative file review component. Regression analysis consists of manual review of statistically significant (outlier) loans identified by the model. Comparative file review is a side-by-side manual review of protected class loans and similarly situated loans as identified by the model. Decisioning analysis follows the same process whereby denied protected class loans are reviewed and during comparative file review are compared to similarly situated approved loans. Results of analysis are shared with and presented to the line of business following each of the four segments: pricing-regression, pricing-comparative, decision-regression, and decision-comparative. In addition to manual review, I produce various analysis reports with the master loan data file within Excel using pivot-tables, custom macros, and calculated worksheets.Outside of day-to-day responsibilities, I also conduct an annual review with the line of business leaders to gather any updates or changes that have occurred in line of business guidelines, procedures, and practices. We use the OCCs Appendix J guide for this process.Experience through 2021 includes multiple rounds of analysis for consumer installment loans, indirect dealer loans, and mortgage & home equity loans.
