William Ashmore – Industry Pioneer in Non-QM MortgagesWith over 40 years of executive leadership in the mortgage industry, William Ashmore co-founded a large, publicly traded non-agency REIT in 1995. Under his guidance, the firm became a leader in non-agency and agency mortgage lending, with over $130 billion in residential loan volume as well as over $60 billion in securitization for balance sheet.In 2013, that firm launched one of the first large-scale, dedicated non-QM multi-channel origination platforms, leading with innovative product guidelines, loan origination system integration, unique servicing processes, enhanced pricing models, and developing investor relationships. That firm also helped establish industry standards including due diligence processes for bulk non-QM sales and criteria refinement in collaboration with rating agencies. Those achievements have set benchmarks for the modern non-QM marketplace.Mr. Ashmore is currently CEO and Founder of Vista Point Financial Holdings, LLC (VPFH), a vertically integrated alternative credit originator, securitizer, and investor that launched in 2019. Through its subsidiary Vista Point Mortgage (VPM) dba Brokers Advantage Mortgage (BAM), VPFH has been an innovator in alternative lending and has acquired or originated over $6 billion in non-QM first mortgages and Closed-End Seconds (CES), having securitized over $1.3 billion as part of its investment strategy.In 2022, VPM/BAM became one of the first lenders in the industry to create and originate non-QM Closed-End Second Mortgages, with approximately $1 billion in volume to-date. In 2024, VPM/BAM further solidified its leadership by becoming the first to securitize 100% traditional non-QM CES, with $560 million of securitizations closed thus far in 2024 and expected programmatic issuance going forward. By the close of 2024, VPM/BAM is projected to have nearly $4.5 billion in non-QM assets on its balance sheet.
