The Tiverton, RI Fire Department responds to fire, medical, hazardous material, public service and water rescue calls from our three stations located in their response districts. The department has 32 uniformed members operating four shifts on a 42 hour work schedule. The department also provides mutual aid to Fall River, Westport, Little Compton, and Portsmouth as well as other communities in our area.The Fire Chief is the Chief Executive Officer in the fire department with responsibility for technical, administrative, and supervising work in planning, organizing, directing, and implementing all aspects of the fire department.

Under the direction of a Battalion Chief, responsible for performing, directing, and supervising activities of a fire station on an assigned shift. East Providence Fire Department Captain duties include fire suppression operations, emergency medical response, training, and personnel issues. Fire Captains in the EPFD are responsible for the care and maintenance of their fire station, assigned fire apparatus, equipment, and various related support functions. Fire Captains are eligible to work out of rank in the capacity of Battalion Chief. Additionally, assigned to the City of East Providence Emergency Management Agency Team during COVID-19 response and citywide emergency management planning for all-hazards.

Engine Company 3 "Rumford"

Under general supervision of a superior officer, performs responsible supervision of the activities of a fire company in firefighting, training, fire prevention and the maintenance of fire department apparatus, equipment, and property. Work involves responsibility for use of individual judgment and initiative in carrying out the activities vital to the protection of life and property.

The East Providence Fire Department is a full-time career department that protects some 47,096 residents in an area of 16.5 square miles. The department operates 4 stations, housing 5 Engine Companies, 2 Ladder Companies, 3 ALS Rescues, 1 Special Hazards (Heavy Rescue), 1 Hazardous Materials Truck under the command of the Battalion Chief. These fire and rescue companies provide protection to a diverse mix of residential, commercial, light and heavy industrial occupancies

The East Providence Emergency Management Agency (EMA), housed within the Fire Department, plans and prepares for natural and manmade disasters. The agency educates the public, coordinates evacuations and the opening of shelters, and provides weather support for the city. EPEMA works closely with other federal, state and local agencies including the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), RI Emergency Management Agency (RIEMA) and the Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) on emergency management initiatives. It also serves as the City's Floodplain Coordination Office.I was appointed by the Chief of the Fire Department to the City of East Providence Emergency Management Agency. Assisted with revising the City's Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP). Worked to recertify the City's Community Rating System (CRS) for flood plain management. Co-authored the City's Emergency Management Support Functions and City's Emergency Operation Plan (EOP).
