I am a Chief Geophysicist for TGS Exploration working offshore.My job entails tera-bytes of raw seismic data evaluation and quality control utilising the PGS geophysical processing QC tool Viper.I am expected to make quick and accurate decisions on data acceptability that have large financial consequences.I am heavily involved in the HSE culture and routine working in a dangerous environmentI maintain a powerful Linux based data processing computer system.I manage my own projects and a small team of experienced Geo-ScientistsI have been doing this job for over 25 years, but previously I worked in more general geophysical processing and specialised in velocity analysis and velocity modelling with a small component of initial data interpretation.
