At Thermo Fisher Scientific, I am an instructional designer aiming to best prepare our Sales Teams to attain our customers the Molecular Biology and Sample Preparation solutions that their research and bioproduction require. Previously, I provided technical support for Molecular Biology and Applied Markets products. I also serve as a Scientific Editor and Consultant, where I have contributed to over 250 works ranging from original scientific manuscripts to a variety of professional applications.I previously held a Postdoctoral Research Associate position at the Complex Carbohydrate Research Center at the University of Georgia where I worked to extend my biochemical and analytical skills. During my Ph.D. studies at Penn State, I used microscopy and image analysis, as well as cell and molecular biology techniques to characterize carbon metabolism and the contributions of different components of the plant cell wall to plant cell morphology.

Postdoctoral Research AssociateThe University Of Georgia May 2019 - Apr 2021Athens, Georgia AreaI worked within multidisciplinary teams to characterize the biochemical activity of plant Cellulose Synthase enzymes and to elucidate the structure-function relationships of rhamnogalacturonan-II. -
Ph.D. Candidate In Plant BiologyPenn State University Aug 2013 - May 2019State College, PennsylvaniaI studied the partitioning of carbon resources to the cell wall and cell-cell adhesion during plant cell growth and development through genetic, biochemical, and microscopic techniques under the supervision of Charlie Anderson. -
Undergraduate Research Assistant: Jocelyn K.C. Rose Lab At Cornell UniversityCornell University Feb 2011 - Jun 2013Ithaca, New YorkThe Rose Lab focuses on characterizing the structure, function and metabolism of plant cell walls and their roles in growth, development and environmental interactions. Many of the research projects have an association with the importance of plant cell walls as sources of nutrition, biomaterials and renewable energy. In particular, my work focused on characterizing the cuticle of Physcomitrella patens, an early-diverging moss species, as well as identifying evolutionarily conserved genes important for cuticle formation. My Senior Honors Thesis aimed at identifying the genes responsible for the polymerization of suberin, an aliphatic polymer that impregnates cell walls of specialized boundary cells surrounding vascular tissues in higher plants. Further analyses sought to characterize how suberization initiates in Arabidopsis thaliana. -
Summer Undergraduate ResearcherRoswell Park Cancer Institute Jun 2012 - Aug 2012Buffalo/Niagara, New York AreaTogether with traditional disciplines such as pathology and radiology, flow cytometry is dramatically increasing diagnostic accuracy and efficacy so that people can lead healthier lives through research and its transfer to clinical practice. My project investigated how ImageStream Cytometry (Amnis Corp.) can be used to assess the initiation and progression of NFAT immune responses in a high-throughput fashion in response to Epstein-Barr Virus immunogens. -
