I undertook a 3 week vacation scheme at a large regional law firm. My time was divided between the Private Client department and the Commercial Property Department. In addition to assisting fee-earners with their work I was also given various research projects to present back to the company.

On a self-employed basis I worked as an outdoor clerk for Bretherton Law. I attended court on behalf of the solicitors and met with client and counsel. My job was to look after our client while at court if they had any needs, and generally assist counsel with papers etc. I was also involved in the line of communication between counsel and solicitor. I had to type records of proceedings in court daily.
