I started out from school playing professional rugby with Worcester Warriors for 9 years. Upon retiring gained a grounding in insurance working in the Lloyds Insurance Market but being a country boy at heart I was drawn to Agricultural Insurance where over the last 2 years I have been working as a broker. I now join Acres with a strong book of arable and livestock farming clients.My approach is friendly and confident which allows him me offer the best advices for you and your agricultural business.My wife and I, Jess have recently started a family with the arrival of our baby boy Fraser. Relocating back to my rugby roots in Worcester I will be supporting farmers within Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Wiltshire and Warwickshire.

I spent 4 weeks shadowing brokers a week at a time in Casualty, Property, Marine and P&F Risks, dealing with underwriters and also spending time on underwriters boxes in each respective division, to gain both perspectives. I gained experience in broking risks to numerous underwriters, learning different approaches when dealing with differing personalities. My responsibilities included investigating the insured and collating background information to help assess the risk, in preparation for broking in the Lloyds market. This was such a valuable experience as I got some good hands on experience of actual broking and my knowledge of risks and the broking process increased no end.

During my weeks at BMS I shadowed a number of brokers in varying sectors including Cyber, P&I, Treaty, Marine and P&C, gaining a detailed understanding of the role of the broker and the relationship needed between client and underwriter. I was responsible for completing background research on clients to help assess their risks and needs of coverage, along with producing documents, detailing key features of the insurance product. I also performed key tasks, including getting endorsements signed, gaining queries from underwriters and solving any issues along side my team. This was a great experience and affirmed my desire to work as an insurance broker.

Responsible for providing specialist PA/Administration support and advice to the teams including: Managing enquiries from alumni members and foundation associates, dealing with complex and sensitive information. Diary management for team. Creation/maintenance of spread sheets and databases. Ordering and monitoring of merchandise. Support for events - including venue hire, guest list and arranging travel. Organise and support meetings, producing Agendas/Minutes/Action plans. Lead responsibility for specific work streams and projects.

An opportunity I couldn't miss, to experience a wholly foreign culture, embracing it's tradition and people. A place I fell in love with and a valuable year that developed me as a person. Taught me patience and gave me the chance to learn a new language. A challenge I took head on and thoroughly enjoyed.

Professional Rugby Player-Started my career in the clubs academy and through my hard work and discipline I was able to craft a career playing amongst some of worlds best players. My time at Worcester grew my confidence and developed me into a highly valued team player, an attribute I would bring to any future role. The nature of a rugby team creates strong communication skills dealing with many different personalities and indeed cultures, with my friendly, open personality I can fit in to most environments very easily.
