Director of Legal Affairs and Business Development. Responsible for the daily legal needs of a full service real estate brokerage, with an emphasis in leasing and property management. Position requires knowledge of HUD Fair Housing regulations, state and federal landlord tenant statutes, and TREC and Texas REALTORS® forms, to ensure brokerage is in compliance with state law. Also responsible for business development, which includes onboarding new property owners and investors to increase the number of properties under management, while maintaining expert knowledge of the local real estate rental market, as well as staying informed on new and future housing development in the local area.

General practice with a special emphasis on consumer and business bankruptcy representation of both debtors and creditors. Other areas of practice include bankruptcy litigation, credit card and collection related litigation, foreclosure and criminal law, including felonies and misdemeanors, small business representation in entity formation, wills and probate, and contract and real estate issues.

Legal consultant to Corporate Internal Audit Department. Responsibilities included reviewing internal policies and procedures to determine compliance with applicable law, providing counsel to Internal Audit management with regard to legal interpretations, working with various business units to test processes for compliance with policies and procedures and standards, and assisting in reporting findings to upper management and federal regulatory agency (Office of the Comptroller of the Currency). Previously a member of in house legal team responsible for auditing foreclosure procedures pursuant to the OCC Consent Order effective April, 2011 (Independent Foreclosure Review) to verify foreclosure processes were followed correctly with regard to foreclosure procedure, bankruptcy, fees and SCRA compliance. Involvement in the project required extensive knowledge of mortgage servicing procedures, including foreclosure, the United States Bankruptcy Code, third party relationships with vendors, creative solutions to obtain information contained in lost or destroyed records, as well as working under guidance from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.

Practice devoted to debtor representation in bankruptcy cases. Managed high volume Chapter 13 docket, including claims litigation and confirmation issues, Chapter 7 litigation, Chapter 11 cases, foreclosure defense, IRS litigation, defending Automatic Stay issues, and appeals, including oral argument at the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit
