Tasked with performing FISMA risk assessment analyses as a contractor for the Social Security Administration as part of their. Reviewed all information types that were being processed by the systems while comparing them to NIST 800-60 and FIPS 199 recommendations. Reviewed the most current documentation on the system to ensure that everything was up to date, and so that the assessment would be as accurate as possible, while making sure that they are also up to date in CSAM. These documents consisted of: security plans; configuration management plans; disaster recovery plans; and many other types of contingency and security documents. Performed an independent assessment on the system using NIST security control baselines and using these to complete a security assessment report on the system. The assessment included an analysis of all documentation, and interviews with system stakeholders and technical support staff to help determine the procedures that were being followed. Once the assessment was complete we were required to write a risk assessment report that detailed any possible vulnerabilities or findings that were discovered during the assessment. Worked with stakeholders to update all vulnerabilities in CSAM.

In charge of managing and troubleshooting all IT related equipment, to include: computers, printers, servers, switches, networking equipment, and cabling. Management of the servers included checking event logs, firewall logs, and monitoring the network activity to ensure the proper health and security of the network. Developed and enacted a security awareness program for company employees to ensure that they are better aware of cyber threats. Inn charge of evaluating the organization's prior security and IT policies to ensure that they better reflected the NIST and HIPAA regulations and standards. Oversaw a network infrastructure upgrade that included: a new fiber backbone; Cisco Meraki switches, access points, and firewall system.

Day to day tasks mostly involved the troubleshooting of issues on a variety of systems, including: Windows PCs, Macbooks, Chromebooks, printers, and Linux services. Helped with the administration of the various campus servers that included Windows Server 2008, 2012R2, Mac OS X Server, and various virtual servers that I helped create. These administrative tasks included account management, group policy management, and firewall and event log analysis. Assisted with multiple malware outbreaks at our facility by researching and communicating the solution to removing the infection. Learned the CLI of the new switches for a network project in order to help properly setup the VLAN and port configurations so the new switches could properly communicate on our new network.

In charge of protecting the Congressional community from threats that may try to harm or disrupt the community at large. Worked with outside agencies for large scale events and threats, helping to ensure that information is being properly transmitted. While performing my duties I had to enforce traffic regulations as well as federal and DC laws. I had to write reports for the different events that would occur throughout the day, to include: lost property, suspicious activity, encounters with individuals, and arrest reports when needed. I worked closely with the Senate community and assisted with outreach within the buildings to make sure that all members' offices were informed about new security rules and regulations. Conducted investigations on various crimes and reports that were brought to my attention that required me to interview individuals and assess the situation that was occurring.
