About William C. Herz

Bill Herz is the Executive Director of the National Lime Association (NLA), the voice of the lime industry in the U.S. and Canada. With more than 11 years of experience in this role, he has successfully led the association in growing its membership, revenue, and influence, while serving the needs and interests of its diverse stakeholders. He holds a Master of Public Health in Environmental and Occupational Health from George Washington University and a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science and Human Nutrition from Cornell University.As a lime industry leader, Bill Herz has a strong bias for action and a cross-disciplinary approach to managing complex issues. He oversees the association's work in government affairs, environmental regulation, sustainability, health and safety, and advocacy, proactively addressing emerging legislative and regulatory challenges and opportunities. He is also responsible for helping develop and implement a sustainability platform for the lime industry, building on his previous experience in the fertilizer industry, where he helped develop best management practices for farming and manufacturing. He is passionate about protecting and promoting the critical role of lime in modern society and the green energy transition.
