I trained under the late Charles B. MacDonald and we worked together on the research for his book "A Time for Trumpets" I have guided notable Texans around the Bulge and Normandy. I worked or had contact with Chester Hansen (General Bradley's aide) Colonel Davd Pergrin, General Hasso von Manteuffel, and a large number of American military officers and NCO's. I conduct U.S. Army Staff rides to Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge on a regular basis. I have aurthored 4 books on the Battle of the Bulge. I lived in Belgium for 13 years which enabled me to research the Battle of the Bulge at my leisure. Macdonald said of me "I strongly recommend Will Cavanagh as a guide of the first order." I also worked in the past on the trips to the Ardennes run by the University of Austin, Texas. I have been involved in the erection of a number of mouments and plaques in the Ardennes.
