I have been working as a First Aid Officer for various sports and competition levels for the past 6 years. I have treated many conditions over the years, including: potential spinal injuries, suspected concussions, a fractured radius and tibia, dislocated shoulder and many more less serious soft tissue injuries such as lateral ankle sprains, quadricep and hamstring strains.

Private PracticeMy final clinical placement to finish the degree. I had a much more active role than my previous private practice placement, as I was kept very busy each day, assessing and treating multiple patients. I have improved many skills, including: mobilisations at the C/Sp, T/Sp and L/Sp, Mulligan's movements with manipulations (MWMs) at the neck, shoulder and ankle, soft-tissue massaging, and exercise prescription using the reformer. I also attended a teleconference via Zoom about advocating for conservative approaches to ACL tears instead of always opting for surgery.

ICU and Cardiopulmonary WardsWas responsible for treating a wide variety of presentations in the ICU ward, and helping discharge patients from the cardiopulmonary wards after returning to their baseline mobility.

Instructed 1-on-1 and small group Pilates sessions with a strong focus on rehabilitation and improving patients' strength and mobility. This has been the perfect role whilst still at University, as I was able to get real-world experience whilst improving my exercise prescription skills. I was also working as a receptionist during my time here, and have gained lots of experience from performing this role.

I spent the season assessing and treating players from the men and women's AFL premier league teams at Inner West Magpies AFL. I performed a range of tasks during this placement, including: ankle, shoulder and knee taping pre-match, soft-tissue massaging to players calves, hamstrings, adductors and glutes, reading players X-ray scans, and diagnosing injuries (medial meniscus and rotator cuff tear).

Work, Health and Safety Clinical PlacementI was tasked with creating a presentation on 'Creating Healthy Behavioural Changes' to the employees at BIOTRONIK, to help prevent injuries in the workplace, and optimise employees physical and mental health.

Rehabilitation WardI treated numerous patients with conditions including: below-knee amputations, strokes, hip and knee replacements, and spinal fractures.

Acute Neurological and Stroke WardHelped treat multiple stroke patients, as well many other neurological conditions. I also conducted a case study presentation on Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma.

Private Practice Some common conditions I helped treat include: post-op ACL reconstructions, post-op Achilles' tendon ruptures, low-back pain, adhesive capsulitis, ATFL sprains, and fractured patella.
