BG ProjectCad systems used: PDMS 3D, Draft, Autocad & Pointcloud.As the principal designer within a caissons action group we engineered the replacement of multiple cassions on BG's Lomond, Everest and CATS Riser platforms.We progressed 9 caissons through FEED and 7 through detail design. The first of whichto be actioned offshore involved condensing a 22 week programme into 8 to allow theremoval of the failing Lomond C6 Open drains caisson which hung over a 20" gas export line. Thedesign and execusion went as planned and the caisson was removed in June 2014 allowing startup shortly afterwards. Typical replacement designs involved using Oil States Merlinconnectors or welded connections to facilitate the joining of caisson sections.

Talisman Auk redevelopment Pre-FEED & Various other projects Cad systems used: PDMS 3D & AutocadWorking as a key member of a small structural topside team we have developed FEED & pre-FEED designs for several projects and clients but predominantly the Talisman Auk south redevelopment. Liaising with the Talisman project team we conceptualised numerous wellhead platform options culminating in the delivery a well-defined pre-FEED Drilling Production Platform, a bridge link to Auk Alpha all supported by a four legged traditionally piled jacket. Deliverables include a PDMS 3D model and well-defined arrangement drawings.Significant other projects include a fuel/export gas study on Talisman’s Fulmar platform which involved conceptualising a new hook on module. Also a firewater / service water upgrade study on TAQA’s Cormorant Alpha where we studied utilising existing conductors for new firewater pumps while installing new conductors and dead weight supports where no conductor existed. Both these projects included offshore surveys to develop the work scope.Other duties have included detail designing of installation modifications to Maersk North Sea Producer FPSO, construction work pack compilation, design assistance to subsea department and weight control / volumetric database review and update for Talisman Claymore.
