Covestro had many units, I worked in coatings where I was outside and board certified. We manufactured 2 main products through a continuous process, then through blending in our tank farm made a multitude of other products. I was cross trained and worked closely in conjunction with our sister unit and another that fed most our raw materials. We also had to use outside products for our blends that came from other tank farms, rail cars, truck trailers, totes and drums. High pressure from 2000psi to vacuum under .2psi and all the hoses, connections and transmitters in between. I did lock out tag out and worked with maintenance during shut downs, clean outs and priority jobs on the fly. daily duties would include sampling, cleaning strainers, changing filters, and general troubleshooting. On the board I have been through shut downs and start ups along with regular running looking for, spotting and addressing problems and making adjustments to maintain in-spec material as well as write permits and coordinate with all involved. I was also involved in starting to make several experimental products from brand new, to scaling other products up in size in our unit that never made it before.

After I graduated high school I became a painter at Mobley. I was responsible for materials, equipment, acquiring permits, quality control, and cleaning up. I ran a few small jobs as lead man, then when painting jobs slowed down I became a scaffold builder. I have worked in numerous plants around the Houston area and have been trained and certified for fall protection, respirators, heavy equipment with high pressure hoses and connections, suspended scaffolds, lead and asbestos abatement, and HAZWOPER, as well as many other miscellaneous skills and plant safety certifications. I resigned from Mobley to further my education at Lee college and obtain a career as a process technician.
