William J. Finnerty retired from Tesoro Corporation Inc. in 2010 after a career spanning 40 years leading businesses in the petroleum and refining industry. At Tesoro Mr. Finnerty served as Chief Operating Officer from 2005 to 2008, responsible for overall operations in manufacturing, environmental and safety, marketing, business development and supply and trading. From 2008 to 2010 he served as Executive Vice President, Strategy and Corporate Development, where he was responsible for developing the company’s business plan, strategic plans and multiple business development and merger and acquisition initiatives. Mr. Finnerty began his career with Texaco, Inc. in 1970, and subsequently held executive positions with Texaco, Equiva Trading Company and Chevron Corporation. Mr. Finnerty served on the Board of Directors/Executive Committee of the National Petrochemical and Refiners Association from 2005 to 2010 and was Vice Chairman of that organization from 2008 to 2010. He joined the Board of CVR Energy Inc. in 2011 and was an active Director until the company was sold in 2012. Mr. Finnerty chaired the EH&S Committee and was a member of the Nominating & Corporate Governance Committee. Mr. Finnerty became a Board member of Delek US Holdings, Inc. on April 1, 2014. Mr. Finnerty holds a bachelor’s degree in Marine Transportation from the State University of New York Maritime College and completed Texaco’s Global Leadership course in Vevey, Switzerland. Mr. Finnerty’s wealth of experience in all facets of the downstream sector, with both integrated major oil companies and independent refiners, as well as his expertise in business development and strategic considerations, has provided significant value to his Board of Director positions and consulting activities.
