Held a variety of positions to include Manager, Administrator, and Hospital President. As manager of the Medical Intermediate Unit I was responsible for the daily operation of 24 bed medical intermediate unit of 24 beds and 60 employees. Total budget responsibility in excess of two million dollars. Average daily occupancy of 98%. While Administrator, Perioperative Services responsibilities included operations of four surgical units, a 15,000 case per year Operating Room, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, Ambulatory Surgery Unit, Surgical Intermediate unit, and two general surgery units. Staffing of 500 FTEs. Budget responsibilities exceeding 20 million dollars. Previous areas of responsibility also included five intensive care units with an open heart program, Trauma Service, and flight program. Strengths include personnel management and development, budgeting, and physician relationships. As President, Bertie Memorial Hospital I was responsible for the operation and leadership of the community hospital, outpatient services, physician practice and rural health clinic. Accomplishments include; relocating operations and opening the new facility in October of 2001, Reducing paid FTE by 5%, reducing days in AR by 22%, Increasing net operating revenue by 11.55%, Achieving JCAHO accreditation following 20 year history of non-accreditation with a score of 96.
